I love the smell of fresh compost and the feel of it with my bare hands // The Red Sea // Sewing and knitting fabrics that I find on the street // Getting a new, second-hand dress // Weaving hats out of pine needles // Riding my bike around Jerusalem // Tomatoes growing in a pot in my balcony.

I'm glad that I grew up in Jerusalem, and that I live near my little niece // I enjoy bonfires and going to bed with black feet // I love jumping into the cold waters of the Jordan River, playing backgammon with Amir, and talking in bed late into the night // Improvising music or a delicious dish from whatever there is in the fridge when friends come over // The smell of carrot cake when it comes out of the oven // I love drawing and painting, and then finding out that my work resembles that of my grandmother.

I love to reminisce about my time spent in Nepal and Italy, and on trips // To discover beautiful words in Arabic and speak with Hassan in the market // To listen to stories // When the ceramic's kiln is on at night, I am sleepless with anticipation // I love writing down my dreams in the morning.
